If you are coherent after an accident, here are some of the things you should do in the event of an accident:

– Record the time and place of the accident

– Get out your phone and take photographs of the scene and all people involved in the accident (especially the damage)

– Exchange information: full name, home address, phone number (cell, work, home, etc.), insurance company name and policy number,  name of their agent. (A lot of this information should be on their insurance card if they are carrying it.) Please note: It is a good idea to limit discussion during the course of the exchange.

– Write a statement out as quickly as possible. Our agency is happy to assist clients in getting this done.

– The party at fault should notify their insurance company as quick as possible.

– Call the police to get a record of the accident for insurance purposes.
